Understanding Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and Occupational Safety and Health Act (Amendment) 2022  Awareness Training

The Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022 is a legal modification to the existing Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 in Malaysia.  

The amended OSHA applies to all places of work, except for those serving in the armed forces, working onboard ships, and domestic helpers or maids.  

Employers are now required to appoint an employee as an Occupational safety and health coordinator (OSH-C) for places of work that are not included in any class or description of place of work in the gazette requiring a safety and health officer (SHO). 

In summary, the OSHA Amendment aims to enhance workplace safety and health regulations, ensuring better protection for employees across various work environments in Malaysia.

Methodology

This training, theory and workshop is aimed to be practical, participative and interactive. Real life examples, case studies and “HANDS ON” tips will be given to participants during the training. There will also be small group activities to foster better understanding of concepts and real life applications.
